Both attorney and client need to have a shared opinion of the suitability of a matter for suit, and a shared understanding of the objectives sought to be achieved by bringing a case.
If there is indication of malpractice, we will discuss with you what the law may provide in terms of compensation, and other important, constructive purposes that may be achieved.
Often, the objective in bringing suit is not primarily financial. We have represented many families in "wrongful death" malpractice cases whose primary objective was to hold a wrongdoing physician accountable in a Court of law, and provide sufficient sanction to deter similar conduct in the future.
A case is "worth" no more, and no less, than achieving justice.
In one of our cases, we brought about a meeting between a leading executive a national pharmacy company, and a family whose daughter died from poor pharmacy practices. In addition to financial aspects of settlement, the pharmacy provided a personal apology, and described concrete measures that company would take in the future to prevent similar errors from taking place. The family served their daughter's memory by donating the financial portion of settlement to a charity set up in honor of their daughter.
Sometimes the objective is financial compensation --and appropriately so. For a patient with medical bills, or put out of work by malpractice, the reality is that only financial compensation will allow them to regain their financial security, which would otherwise have been lost through another's negligence.
We are always guided by the principle that our clients deserve the full value of their case, according to the full extent of the law. Our understanding of case value is informed by many years of experience on both the Plaintiff and Defense side of practice. We also maintain state-of-the-art databases on reported cases, settlements and verdicts, including Verdict Search (TM) and Westlaw (TM) --which allows us to understand the full, appropriate value of your case.
With a consistent track-record of success, we will give your case its best opportunity to realize its full and proper potential in the Courts .
